You might not be able to catch New York, Paris, or Buenos Aires for fashion week this year, but you can catch a tiny taste of the runway on the Paseo as a part of the International Spring Fest.
In addition to the cultural acts, booths, and food sales, participating international student groups will showcase looks in a cultural fashion show, which will highlight clothing and fashion from around the world.
The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 17 on the University Center Paseo on the UTSA Main Campus. Food, fun and entertainment will be available for students, faculty and staff.
“We hope this event will give UTSA students a chance to understand that the campus includes students from more than 95 countries, all with different takes on food, dance, talent and fashion,” explains Renee DaSilva, program coordinator with the College of Business Office of International Business Programs.
Student associations who will participate include:
- African Student Association
- Ballet Folklorico Itzel
- Brasilerios em UTSA
- East Asia Institute
- Global Business Club
- Hispanic Student Association
- Iranian Student Association
- Native American Student Association
- Saudi Students Club
- Vietnamese Student Association
Several student organizations will have booths with food, crafts, games and information available.
The Global Business Club, College of Business International Programs and the UTSA Office of International Programs will sponsor the event, which is free and open to the public.
Student groups who are interested in participating with a table, performance or entry in the fashion show can contact Laura Gomez in the Office of International Business Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 458-6447.
